Founded in 1990, Dartmoor is an independent school with a mission to provide an optimal personalized education for its students via active one-to-one instruction individualized to their learning levels and styles, as well as to the pace of their academic and intellectual progress. Instruction is offered in a welcoming, safe, respectful, and nurturing environment.

The student population at Dartmoor is richly diverse. Dartmoor works with special needs and gifted students as well as students who have unique scheduling needs (e.g., athletes, performers, and individuals with medical needs). Students have the option to dual enroll with a local public or private school and may have the choice of graduating with either institution.

Dartmoor also offers student support in most academic subjects.
