In 2005 I created Lap of Luxury Lap Desks to assist others in relief of eye, neck, shoulder and back strain, and to provide a practical aide in working and playing away from a table or desk. I have a background in physical therapy and use this knowledge to design my desks. I use the desks extensively myself, as DVD and laptop computer support, eating dinner, supporting a book, as a surface for crafting, and for writing in my journal.

I use lightweight maple laminate or solid bamboo to construct the desks. The filler is shredded foam which regains its shape if prodded and is also very light. I also offer buckwheat hull filler with the bamboo as a green product.

Member of Eugene's Saturday Market, largest open air market in the US. My lap desks have been in the U of O bookstore, Powell's bookstore in Portland, Willamette Stationers, and the Denver Art Museum.
