Lions Tea Factory was established in 1998 in the Southern Region of Sri Lanka. It falls within the low grown elevation category. It belongs to Ruhuna flavor category. It entirely uses tea leaf produced by small tea farmers in its manufacture.

The factory caters to 575 small tea farmers. The factory adheres to best practices in the manufacturing process as confirmed by the Three Star rating it has received from the Sri Lanka Tea Board for Organizational, GMP and AHP Excellence.

It is also certified for internationally accepted Food Safety Management Standards such as ISO 22,000.
