Vincristine is an alkaloid extracted from the plant of the Apocynaceae species, Vinca. Because of its good anti-tumor effect, its preparation is currently used as a clinical anti-tumor drug. It is found in Phrynaceae, Catharanthus species. It is anti-cancer, and the effect is about 10 times higher than vinblastine, especially for the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. It is also effective against other acute leukemias, Hodgkin's disease, lymphosarcoma, reticulocytic sarcoma and breast cancer.
