Advanced Bending Technologies (formerly Van Ingen Services Ltd)originated in Europe and moved its operations to Canada in 1982. The company consisted of two branches, a marine division in Vancouver, British Columbia and a structural steel bending shop in Surrey, BC. The marine division focused on the installation of piping systems on cruise ships while the structural steel bending shop focused on steel fabricators and contractors serving the mining, pulp and paper, and oil and gas industries.

The company changed ownership in 1991 and shortly thereafter moved to new facilities in Langley, BC. At that time we began to focus more on the US market, supplying customers all the way from Hawaii to Rhode Island. The introduction of newly-designed equipment employing innovative bending techniques enabled us to take on projects that were previously beyond the scope of our capabilities.

On May 1, 2003 we moved again to a new plant, over twice as big as our old building. The new facilities were custom-designed and built to address the many unique challenges of our business. At the same time, we changed our name to Advanced Bending Technologies to better reflect our wide range of innovative bending techniques.

Our Calgary, Alberta branch opened in 1996 to take advantage of increasing activity in the burgeoning energy industry and the infrastructure that supports it. The Calgary branch has enjoyed significant growth in recent years and moved to larger facilities in 2007.
