I do what I tell my students to do in order to be admitted to the colleges - STAND OUT. Your child can have the best GPA and the best test scores, but your student is competing with other students with the same academic profile as they all apply to the same colleges.

After senior year begins, the student and parents are under pressure to make decisions in a process (college planning) in which there is no expereince or training. Guidance counselors take very little time (38 min per yr = average) because college planning takes up less than 30% of their responsibilites. You are left to fend for yourself with no real guidance.
