Colorificio Maffei snc was founded in 1965. At first, it concentrated on the production of water-based paints and wall coverings, but once it moved to new premises it rapidly expanded its range to include varnishes and anti-rust products. In 1975, the company won a Mercure d'Or international prize in Brussels. It currently operates in three sectors: building, retail and manufacturing.
