Dixie Playground was started in 1978 by Mark Summerford as a small family business, in a rolling agricultural valley of North Central Alabama, during this time high-quality commercial and residential playground equipment was non-existent.

Over the years, our capabilities have continued to expand to make us a leader in the playground manufacturing market in the south-east and earned the loyalty and trust of you, our valued customer. At Dixie Playground we like to think of ourselves as a pioneer in the business.
