Basswood is a soft textured white wood (occasional brown or grey streaks) with very little grain. Carving planks are ideally suited for relief carving, chip carving, wood burning and as a base wood for painted folk art projects.

This wood has no sap problems when painting so it presents an ideal raw material for all your painted folk art and veneered woodworking projects. It also makes a great intarsia wood when you need something that will not yellow.

Basswood is great for beginner and advanced basswood carving. Blocks are rough to leave maximum thickness for you to work with.
