Gaiacomp operates more than 255 building supply stores in some states. Products include lumber, plywood, sheetrock, tools, and trusses. Gaiacomp also provides design and installation services. The firm was formed in 1922 by b. B. Benson to sell boards and plaster base; his family sold the company to wolseley in 1986. Gaiacomp has since grown by acquiring regional lumberyards; 2005 purchases include companies in usa, uk, italy, france and spain.
