History of Gammons Seasonings

Gammons Seasoning originated from my grandfather (Chester Arthur Woods) back in the 1940's in Osceola, Arkansas. My grand father sold barbecue in his restaurant for over 20 years. Customers would come from all over the northeastern part of Arkansas and Memphis, Tenn. to get his delicious BBQ pork shoulder, Chicken and Ribs.

After he retired he moved to Miami, Florida to live out the rest of his life near his daughter who is my mother.

Ms. Dorothy Oliver ran several restaurants in the Miami area. She got the recipe from her father before he passed away. She used the blended spices in her restaurant for many years in the Miami area.
