Jindal Mining SA is a subsidiary of India based Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. (JSPL). JSPL is engaged in production of steel and power in India. In 2009, Jindal Mining SA acquired the Kiepersol Colliery neat Piet Retief town in Mapumalanga province in South Africa. The mine is now producing 1 million tonnes per annum of high quality Lean Bituminous and Anthracite coal through underground mining.
