The joint-stock company "seda" is the biggest peat milling and exporting enterprise in latvia. It was established in 1954, but in 1993 was reorganized and became a joint-stock company. The total area of peat milling and extracting is 2`000 ha. The company is provided with the equipment necessary for the production of substrates, for packing peat in polyethylene sacks, or big bags, as well as with the equipment for processing block peat and dividing it into fractions of 0-10mm,10-20mm,20-40mm. The company has wide experience in transporting and selling peat products. For the purposes of sale, the peat is transported by sea, by land, in containers and trucks, as well as a deck-cargo.
