The Board at KITS is made up of individuals representative of the engineering and motor vehicle industries who volunteer their time at no cost to ensure the smooth running of KITS and the high quality training of Apprentices. This has benefits for both Apprentices and Employers:

KITS has been established as one of the leading independent Engineering Training Providers in the area. KITS has a fully resourced workshop designed to replicate a modern workshop environment. All our apprentices receive training on a wide range of equipment that they will find in a workshop, from manual lathes and milling machines to the latest state of the art CNC machines with on machine justification.

We relieve you of the worry of trying to interpret the latest rules and regulations, allowing you to concentrate on the other priorities of your own job. Your in-house personnel may well have generalist knowledge, but in many cases, specialist knowledge of Health and Safety is required.

Our value added service ensures that our advisers have encountered most problems before and their knowledge and expertise enables them to devise successful and cost effective solutions.

Short Course Discount - KITS offers a 10% discount to members for all short courses that it provides (except where there are nationally agreed rates).

Conference Centre Room Hire - KITS offers a 10% discount to members for Conference Centre room hire in relation to any business or social event that the company wishes to hold.

Apprenticeship Recruitment - All KITS members have the opportunity to be represented at school career evenings and conventions. KITS members can also access KITS proven recruitment processes which include aptitude testing, interviews etc.

Access to Funding - KITS maintains up-to the-minute information in liaison with SFA, ESF and other funding providers on grants available. KITS will provide the forms, the contacts and the advice on how to apply for funding for specific projects.

Health and safety Appraisal - Every three years, companies with trainees will be given a full Health and Safety appraisal. This also gives member companies the opportunity to discuss any Health and Safety issues.

Annual General Meeting - All member companies are invited to the KITS annual general meeting, which gives an opportunity to meet other members and ‘have your say’ on how KITS is being run.
