MBK Design Studio is a local family firm specializing in the design, supply and supervised installation of Kitchen, Bathroom, Bedroom and Studies. The company was founded in 1987 in Staplehurst, Kent. In the nine years at Staplehurst it worked in the villages of Linton, Cranbrook, Marden, Hawkhurst, Goudhurst and Headcorn. The showrooms grew in size, and it was decided that a move to Coxheath so as to include Loose, Maidstone, Kingswood, Boughton, Hollingbourne and Aylesford, and a strengthening of the brands we sold would provide a better choice for our clients. In the subsequent years the showrooms at Coxheath grew in size and gradually new showroom areas were added and more product lines purchased to give our clients even greater choice. With the help of our dedicated and experienced staff and supervised installers, Trading Standards approved, having gained TrustMark accreditation, we provide you with advice and help in all stages of a home improvement project from conception to completion. We pride ourselves in the ability to source any product and be competitive. Our aim is to be one step above the normal retailer. Our designs are created with YOU in mind. We do everything in our power to ensure that your home improvement is ready on time and that you are completely happy with it.

We have extensive showrooms with ample off street parking and very flexible opening hours with evening appointments to suit you. Our trading partners all work to our unique 'Code of Conduct' which stipulates standards which must be adhered to and are regulated by MBK. Due to our independence we are able to provide you with a wide range of product to create your dream project. We have completed successfully over 1400 domestic and trade projects, in the Weald, South East, London, Scotland and Ireland and have been employed as consultants for projects in excess of £5 million. Over the years we have developed a number of ways to minimize or eliminate the stress associated with your home improvement and we are continually evolving this process. It is also why we have been able to build a business serving local customers where recommendations form 65% of our sales.

Since 1987 MBK has continually up dated and up graded the product it offers for sale. Due to our supervised installation service and customer feedback forms, we have over the years established very good partnerships with our Trading partners and our customers. So the feedback we get from them in regards to the usage of product enable us to make decisions based on both the cost of the product and its reliability and ease of installation. When we take on new product these are the most important factors in our buying decisions. Following comments received we added to our portfolio and introduced Miller Accessories, AEG appliances and the Portfolio collection of Kitchens our own bespoke range to suit all budgets. We continually monitoring product in the market and spend time with manufacturing representatives determining whether partnerships with their firms will benefit MBK and their clients. Having traded since 1987 MBK has a history of bathroom design in the suites sold to clients over those years. In the late eighties and early nineties, people were ripping out suites in the glorious colours of Penthouse Red, Avocado, Bahamas Beige, Pampas and Primrose and replacing them with the pastel shades of Pink, Ivory, peach and whisper cream, white was only sold with traditional suites. In the late nineties and early 21st century we rarely see a coloured suite, all the colour is in the accessories, the tiles, the flooring and designer radiators, gone are gold taps and chrome and white rule the roost. But we are advised Black is the colour, not sure I agree on my past experience with dark colours they are so difficult to keep clean, when did you last see a dirty white car? We will see but white is the colour available and now the interest is centred on the taps and more money is spent on the brassware than in some cases the pottery.
