M&P DESIGN GROUP
Produkto aprašymas
I was raised in northern New Jersey, in a home where wall colors were constantly changing and furniture was always being rearranged. I found the fluidity of change invigorating, and it's what inspired my continuing pursuit of design as I grew.
I began my design education at the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC while I was still in high school. In college I studied Interior Design at the renowned Pratt Institute, before graduating from Penn State University's College of Arts and Architecture in 2010.
During college I worked as an Interior Design Assistant in a privately owned design firm, and continued working in the design field until breaking out to form M&P Design Group in 2014. Since then our work has been featured in top publications and television, appearing in Westchester Magazine and HGTV's Property Brothers.
I believe optimal design necessitates an understanding of the way people live/ work in their spaces, which is why I take time to learn my clients' functional and aesthetic needs. With experience in architectural planning and renovations, combined with a sharp eye for color, texture, and finishes, I design eclectic yet classic rooms filled with personalized detail.
our mission
Our mission at M&P Design Group is to change the way you think about interior design. We are dedicated to providing quality service to our clients through our three design philosophies:
THIS IS YOUR SPACE (NOT MINE)
What do I mean by this? I will never come in and tell you what should be done within your space. Instead, during our first meeting, we'll sit and get to know one another. Taking time to learn and understand my clients before beginning the design process, allows me to learn the needs of each project. This is the key to designing a space reflective of each individual client, and creating an environment that improves their overall quality of life and enjoyment.
FLUID INTERIOR DESIGN™
Over the last handful of years, interior design has reinvented itself! In keeping up with this notion that design- like fashion- navigates trends at a much faster rate than before, I have developed a design concept called 'fluid interior design'. Recognizing classic/ timeless pieces versus trends helps my clients and I to work within a budget to create stunning homes and commercial spaces that are on-trend, but able to be reinvented without breaking the bank! I work very closely with my clients and their project's needs to determine what within their space should be their 'foundation pieces' (or the pieces that will remain), versus their 'trendy / fluid' pieces (the items we know we can swap out within a few year's time). This concept has allowed my clients to feel much freer within their design decisions knowing nothing is ever set in stone. As life grows, changes, and continues to move around us - our spaces should adapt as well!
APPLIED PSYCHOLOGY:
We all have a subconscious awareness of the world around us, especially when it comes to the spaces we inhabit. Spatial planning, color, pattern, and other stylistic elements are all components that when combined, can effect the way we live or work within a space. With this concept, I take time to understand the needs of my clients with regard to each project we work on together; be it comfort, relaxation, cheerfulness, productivity, open concepts, etc. Utilizing applied psychology allows me to offer better designs, suited specifically for my clients functional and aesthetic wants and needs, thus leading to move productive and enjoyable lifestyles.
