PT. GSI was founded on August 2004 to fulfill the ever growing worldwide demand for realible coal supply.

The company started its operation with the acquisition of coal mine site of 2, 500 hectares situated in Satui, South Kalimantan, Indonesia.

Preliminary study shows a deposit of well over 50 million metric tons. With capital of US $5 million, the company started a coal production in May 2005.
