We deliver WRAP® training within a Corporate and Schools based format throughout Northern Ireland, Ireland and the UK mainland.

What is WRAP®?

WRAP® stands for Wellness Recovery Action Plan®, a well-researched and evidenced based practice.

WRAP® is a self-management system which supports individuals to monitor and manage their wellbeing. This involves developing tools and strategies in order to achieve a level of wellness and stability that they always hoped was possible! WRAP® encourages people to move beyond simply managing mental health distress to building a meaningful life in the community by using a highly individualised plan for recovery and wellness.

WRAP® was founded by Mary Ellen Copeland 15 years ago and further developed by a group of people who experienced mental health challenges. Mary Ellen Copeland is an internationally renowned author, doctor, educator, and mental health recovery advocate.

We often plan for everything in our life, why wouldn’t we plan for something as important as our Mental Health?

WRAP® can be used not only to manage mental health and stress but the framework can be applied to support individuals in managing physical health, such as diabetes, heart or strokes, stressful situations, relationships, moving house, exams, applying for a new job….. Its applications are limitless!

WRAP® is designed to:

• Support people to improve their quality of life through developing a self-management plan.

• Decrease troubling behaviours and feelings of anxiety, stress and depression.

• Increase personal empowerment and self-esteem.

• Assist people in achieving their own life goals and dreams.

• Support people to uncover their personal strengths and discover how they can use these strengths

• to support their journey towards a fulfilled life of wellness.

• Supports an individual to develop a safety plan.

• The WRAP® Programme has the following goals:

• Support participants with how to implement the key concepts of recovery which include hope, personal responsibility, education, self-advocacy, and support, in their day-to-day lives.

• Support participants to organise meaningful wellness tools and activities they can use to help

• themselves feel better when they are experiencing difficulties, but more importantly to prevent these difficulties from arising in the first instance.

• Assist each participant in creating a safety plan that guides the involvement of family members and supporters on their behalf when someone can no longer take appropriate action for themselves.

• To support participants to develop an individualised future safety plan to be used when the mental

• health challenge subsides, to promote a return to wellness ad review parts of the WRAP® plan.

• Teach how to implement this plan on a daily basis at home and work and at school.

• Completion of a living document that can be altered and amended as life’s circumstances change.
