RIVERSIDE WINES NEW ZEALAND LIMITED

Riverside Wines was established by Ian and Rachel Cadwallader in 1989 and is located in the Dartmoor Valley in the heart of Hawkes Bay.

As original settlers (1851) they were sheep and beef farmers, but in the early 1980s they began to diversify suitable parts of our property into viticulture.

At Riverside Wines we are all committed to produce and deliver wines that we are proud of.

OUR WINES

Our main brand is the Cadwalladers Riverside followed by Kiwi Bay and Flag Stone Creek. These labels have been specifically developed to meet our various customers requirements.

Not all our varieties of wine are available in each label range.

SAUVIGNON BLANC

Invitingly fruity, with hints of pineapple and gooseberry on the nose. This is followed by refreshing citrus flavours that linger in the mouth. Full of tropical fruit. A truly satisfying experience. Enjoy this wine with fish or chicken dishes, thick rice noodles, tofu, squid,

CHARDONNAY

The aromas lead you into this wine, tempting you to take the next step, revealing a powerful combination of fruit and subtle oak on the palate. It has a warm finish with lasting creamy and stone fruit characters which fashion a very drinkable wine.

This wine will complement roast pork, spicy squid, fish soups, chicken and vegetable dishes. .

MERLOT

The bouquet is fruity and leathery with ripe rich plum and hints of red currents and cherries. Rich fruit on the palate with subtle barrel ageing to give a pleasant oak finish with lingering cider characters. This wine will complement full flavoured cheeses, fish, turkey and pasta dishes, Peking duck, Game, Wago or spicy beef dishes.

CABERNET MERLOT

A complex palate of cedar and plums leading through to coffee and cassis.

A soft round lingering finish. This wine will complement spicy beef, offal and full flavoured chicken dishes.

PINOTAGE

A complex mouth filling palate of spicy berry fruit follows an inviting nose of cedar and chocolate and finishes roundly and softly. This wine will complement beef, venison, lamb and full flavoured chicken dishes.
