After practising classic physiotherapy for a couple of years he started specialising in guidance, coaching and rehabilitation of people suffering from chronic pain, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, burn-outs etc. Five years and around 1000 patients later (treated in his private practice, the UZA and as an assistant to prof. Maes) the time had come to start a new chapter. With this background knowledge Mario Mertens started the search for the best medically and scientifically based infrared installation. At first he purchased and sold standard infrared cabins, but soon he started looking for a way of offering this efficient technology in a fresh and modern way. At the end of 2009 the first design infrared sauna by Thermalux came out. Starting his own production line and workshop was a logical next step. The name Thermalux soon became an established value on the market. At this moment Thermalux’ offer includes infrared saunas, steam rooms and classic saunas, focussing on detail and quality. All of these products have been produced by our own staff in the city of Herentals, Belgium. All of our products are available as individual sets or in combination (twins or triplets). You can opt for detached or built-in sets. Every set can be installed both as an indoor or outdoor sauna as well, with or without extra storeroom. Our products are popular both in Belgium and abroad, with projects in St. Tropez, Zell am See, Lausanne, London, Berlin and even Russia.
