Woody's Meat and Sausage Company was founded by Charles Hornsby "Woody", who moved to Alpharetta, Ga. with his wife Dawn Hornsby in 1998. After a successful career in The Commercial and Military Electronic Components Market, Woody decided to venture down a different path- working in the retail divisions of Proctor and Gamble and Acosta. Woody decided to nurture his idea of opening a retail butcher shop that would sell very high quality, hand cut meat at very reasonable prices, combined with fresh in house made sausage, ready cooked entree's and specialty items such as stuffed shrimp, pork chops and chicken breasts. Woody searched the Alpharetta area and could not find anything like he envisioned. A location was found in a former wing restaurant and Woody's Meat and Sausage Co. was born.
